Dennis Perks has been named the WCPSS CTE Teacher of the Year by Wake County Public Schools. Mr. Perks teaches Adobe Visual and Adobe Video at Apex Friendship High School, where he equips his students with the skills and credentials needed for a growing number of jobs. He also encourages his students to research and produce videos about the history of the original Friendship School, a Rosenwald school built in 1923. His principal, Mr. Pittman, noted that Mr. Perks builds on student learning to grow skill and understanding while creating experiences that allow students to give back to the community.
