**Lansing Celebrates New Sign with Local Artist Murals**

**Lansing Unveils New “LANSING” Sign as Community Landmark**

Lansing, MI – The Lansing Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has officially unveiled the “LANSING” Sign Placemaking Project. The announcement was made Monday afternoon, marking the collaboration between the Lansing EDC, the Saginaw Street Corridor Improvement Authority, the Greater Lansing Art Council, and the City of Lansing.

The sign stands proudly at the intersection of North Grand Avenue and Saginaw Street, measuring six feet tall. Each letter of the sign is adorned with local-themed art, created by seven distinguished Lansing artists. The project is designed to encapsulate the essence and culture of the city.

In collaboration with the Greater Lansing Art Council, the Lansing EDC sought proposals from artists to create murals that celebrate Lansing. Seven murals, referred to as “mini murals,” were selected for the letters of the sign. The artists and links to view their work are:
