Roland Reisley, a Cornell University alumnus, is giving a tour of his home in Westchester County, New York. Reisley, who has lived in the house for 73 years, explains that entering a Frank Lloyd Wright building is marked by a compressed entryway with a low ceiling. Once inside, the design unfolds into spacious rooms that expand the sense of space.

Reisley, who is nearly 101 years old with his birthday in May, points out a hexagonal, wood-and-stone-lined living room as an example of Wright’s design ethos. The large windows in the room open onto a patio, yard, and wooded area. Reisley is the last original client of Frank Lloyd Wright still living in a home designed by the architect.
